“I’ll be sure to give you one,” she says fondly, watching him as she takes a reasonably sized bite from another cookie. His features soften when he’s sleeping, or on the verge of it, and Rey takes in the relaxed lines of his face for a long, quiet moment, simply enjoying this moment.

Eventually he seems close to drifting off entirely, so Rey leans in to press a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth and then climbs off of the bed. After setting her cookies down and taking a long gulp from her tea, she pats Ben’s thigh.

“Come on, lay down,” she tells him, feeling ready to sleep herself after the whirlwind of emotions she’s experienced. All she wants to do is be here with him, warm and safe at his side, in his arms. “I get to be the little spoon tonight.”
