While Ben was far from an unobservant person, Valentine's Day had never been much on his radar. That wasn't to say he'd never done anything special for Rey, but those acts of care and kindness tended to happen on a whim, when he was thinking of her... which, of course, happened to be quite often.
He knew that the holiday wasn't until the middle of the month, vaguely cognizant of the advertisements and decorations popping up around town. Still, it hadn't occurred to him to plan or think about it much at all.
That evening, he returned after an uneventful day of work, relieved to be coming home to her. When she called to him, he arched a brow. They were in each other's space so often, neither of them had many boundaries to speak of, and a firmly closed bathroom door was something of a rarity.
Stepping out of his boots and hanging up his coat, he left her to her own devices as he went into the kitchen for a glass of water. When she didn't return after her promised minute, a faint undercurrent of her frustration clear to him even with their bond mostly shut to him, he was more amused than worried when he called, "Everything alright?"
